January Newsletter

ÍY SȻÁĆEL Hello Brentwood Families,

Happy New Year and welcome back to school.  It’s been a wonderful two weeks and the students and staff have settled back into their school routine and are ready for a new term of learning.

As the new principal, it has been a pleasure meeting your children on the playground and in their classes.  What a welcoming and caring community!  Many students have shared with me important things to know about Brentwood School including their Eagle family groups, year end traditions, fun activities and sport teams they enjoy.   I am excited to be a part of the Brentwood Eagles!

I’ve been an educator for over 27 years and have a passion in teaching Literacy, PE, Social Emotional Learning and Inclusive Education. Most recently, I served as the principal of Prospect Lake Elementary for five and a half years, and previously as the vice-principal/teacher at Keating and Cordova Bay.  I look forward to building relationships with your children and working in partnership with families at Brentwood Elementary.

Please feel free to introduce yourself and connect at your leisure. I look forward to meeting more families in the upcoming weeks.

Sincerely,
Ms. Anita Ko

WET WEATHER
We are well into winter weather that is more wet and cold.  Thank you for sending
outerwear appropriate for our west coast climate: rain jackets, boots and change of clothes in a plastic bag for all students in their backpacks. Some younger students will store spare clothes in their cubbies. Students will continue to play outside at recess/lunch with the exception of heavy rain or extreme weather.

SPARE CLOTHES
Has your child outgrown some clothes? The office staff are looking for extra clothing particularly Boys comfy pants for 5-10 year olds for our spare clothes bins.  Thanks so much.

SHOUT OUTS
Our Rainbow Rug has arrived! Big thanks to the PAC for their support
