SCHOOL NEWS
March 1, 2023

ÍY SȻÁĆEL, Hello Parents & Guardians,

Brentwood staff and students had a busy month of learning including activities celebrating Kindness Month
with Pink Shirt day, Valentine’s Day, Chinese Lunar New Year, 100 Days of School, and Family Day.

Students have been demonstrating their learning in all curricular areas. Over the next two weeks, teachers will be preparing communication on their observations and assessments of your child(ren).  March 1 and 2 are early dismissal days at 1:48.  Your child(ren)’s teacher will have been in contact with you to discuss the details for these days.  Term two report cards will be sent home on March 16th.  Those who are new to report cards will see that the Proficiency Scale is used as descriptors of performance of core competencies and curriculum areas. It’s a pleasure to read your child’s report cards and learn about their interests, growths and goals.  Thanks for returning the envelope for term three.

In March we look forward to the Grade 4 and 5 Basketball Jamboree at Stelly’s and Bayside and an author visit.  There is a parent community social, Saturday March 4, please come out for a parent evening to support your PAC and school (find details below). Thanks to the parent organizers and looking forward to this PAC community event.

With gratitude, HÍSW̱ḴE,

Ms. Anita Ko and Mrs. Tracey Westwood
